What You’ll Learn (The Journey)

Stage 1 – Strengthen Your Foundations

Tighten up timing, balance, and control. Build a solid groove that feels good and stays steady. Learn how to make simple beats sound great.

Stage 2 – Explore New Grooves

Expand your rhythm vocabulary with more 8th and 16th note grooves. Add new hi-hat textures, bass drum patterns, and snare variations to bring your playing to life.

Stage 3 – Add Dynamics and Expression

Learn how to use ghost notes, accents, and open hi-hats to shape your sound and create movement in your playing. Discover the difference between “playing the notes” and making them feel right.

Stage 4 – Build Coordination & Confidence

Start developing 4-way coordination in a fun, musical way. Strengthen your independence between hands and feet so you can play more freely and musically.

Stage 5 – Play Like a Band Drummer

Bring everything together — groove, dynamics, timing, and transitions — and apply it to full songs. Learn how to make your drumming support the music and elevate every track you play.

I had the most amazing time at Ciara’s drum camp this weekend! The whole weekend had the best vibe - no judgment, lots of laughs, and really positive, supportive energy. It felt like a genuinely safe space to learn, experiment, get to know other drummers, and just enjoy playing. I went to the advanced camp and was very happy geeking out over odd time signatures, metric modulation, and all kinds of wonderfully nerdy rhythmic things. But Ciara also runs beginner and intermediate camps, and it’s obvious that teaching at all levels is one of her superpowers. She’s an incredibly patient and inspiring teacher who will cheer you on wherever you are in your drumming journey! Anyone even remotely considering one of Ciara’s drum camps should absolutely do it. You’ll leave with a full brain, a full heart, and maybe even a new favourite time signature. 😁

What an amazing drummer and a fantastic teacher. I’ve just spent a weekend at drum camp with Ciara, and it was the best 🤘…. If you need to let out your inner rock child and try something new, I thoroughly recommend it. She teaches in such a fun way and makes learning the drums a great experience - I will be back for more 😁

Learning to drum with Ciara is an incredible experience... but whatever you thought it was going to be is just the tip of the iceberg. Add in a heady mix of joy, emotion, laughter and shared experiences with an amazing bunch of wonderful women and you might be getting closer to understanding why I'm hooked. Ciara is the most talented, supportive and patient drum teacher you could ever have. It's like having your own personal cheerleader! I had never picked up a drumstick or read a note of music in my life before joining Drum Camp but I needn't have worried about taking the plunge... It's one of the best gifts you could ever give yourself.
